Amber Protect
Our Amber Protect was designed to be an ultra-low power wireless tracking device. It operates on the Sigfox IoT platform in the 868 MHz frequency range. It also has support for proprietary RF protocols and allows for peer-to-peer communication without needing to go through a base station. The product also has a very sensitive multi-constellation global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receiver for accurate location of the device.

Frequently Asked Questions
Amber Protect is a wireless panic button device from Amber IoT that lets a user raise an alarm instantly in an emergency. It transmits the alert over the Sigfox 0G network, so it works without a phone, Wi-Fi, or fixed line. Designed and supported in South Africa, it is aimed at personal safety and duress situations.
When pressed, Amber Protect sends an alert message over the Sigfox 0G low-power network to a monitoring centre or backend platform, which can then trigger a response. Because it uses a dedicated low-power radio rather than cellular, it conserves battery and reaches areas with limited mobile coverage. The simplicity of a single-press alert makes it fast and reliable in a crisis.
Amber Protect suits homes, businesses, lone workers, and any setting where someone may need to summon help quickly and discreetly. Its Sigfox connectivity means it can be used in locations without reliable cellular or Wi-Fi signal. Typical scenarios include personal duress alerts, staff safety, and remote or isolated worksites.
No Amber Protect connects over the Sigfox 0G network, so it does not require Wi-Fi, a SIM card, or a cellular contract. This keeps running costs low and removes dependence on mobile coverage or a router. It also means the device is simple to deploy, with no network configuration for the user to manage.
Amber Protect is designed for simple setup, working on the Sigfox 0G network without complex configuration. This makes it quick to deploy for both individuals and organisations rolling out multiple units. Amber IoT can advise on activation, monitoring-centre integration, and any options for your specific deployment.
